Questions
Does Spokn need the internet?
Only to download it and to activate your licence. Dictation itself runs entirely on your Mac. After activation Spokn checks in about once a month and keeps working offline for up to 60 days in between.
Does it work with PowerScribe, Epic or Citrix?
Spokn types into whatever field your cursor is in, so it works with most reporting and EHR apps. If a remote desktop such as Citrix blocks typed text, Spokn can also put the words on the clipboard for you to paste. See Help.
Is patient information sent anywhere?
No. Your audio and text are processed and stored only on your Mac. Privacy & security lists exactly what Spokn sends, which is only licence information.
Which Macs does it run on?
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. 8 GB of memory and about 2 GB of free space.
What happens after the trial?
Dictation pauses until you enter a licence key. Your settings, macros and saved words stay as they are.
